“Keep praying all the time.” (1 Thessalonians 5 v 16 The Truth)
Lord, I pray to adore You,
More and more,
For You Are life to me.
I pray to praise You,
Evermore, evermore,
For You amaze me.
I pray to worship You, Lord Jesus,
For the fullness You offer us,
Echoing our Father’s love for us.
I pray to thank You sincerely,
This time given reverently
To the adoration of the Holy Trinity.
I pray to offer You my devotion,
Both an emotion and a decision,
Holy Spirit led, Spirit fed in joy.
“If you rejoice in the Lord, you will always be thanking Your heavenly Father for the way He orders your life, because you are so grateful that you have Christ Jesus, your Lord.” (Ephesians 5 v 20 The Truth)
And then, only then,
I pray to ask of You,
To petition, supplicate and intercede,
Our world is in dire need of You.
All that You do for us, Lord Jesus,
Is in the fullness of love and mercy,
We depend upon You entirely,
And re-commit prayerfully day by day.
I pray then rejoicingly,
So grateful You are a Trinity,
All Three ready to assist us.
You show us love which is so gracious, Lord Jesus.
“Your Father is well aware of what you need even before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6 v 8 The Truth)
“No matter what you ask in prayer you will receive if you truly believe.” (Matthew 21 v 22 The Truth)
Lord Jesus, I pray to You because You are the human face of the Lord God, which I can recognise and respond to I pray because I long to deepen and strengthen our friendship, and friends always want to spend time together.
I pray to offer all thanks in advance of my prayers of petition, of supplication, being lovingly answered, and knowing this will happen, I want to state my belief.
I pray because the joy of knowing You as my Saviour, my Brother, the Word of life the Lord God gifts us, this is a totally life enriching experience I want to acclaim.
I pray because as Saviour, You have re-established us to be at peace with our Father, for He has allowed You to take the punishment of our sinfulness.
I pray when I go wrong, to seek the forgiveness You won for us at the † of Calvary, when You set us free from condemnation.
I pray everyday to start and finish the day as best I can. Praying increases my awareness of Your presence and this necessitates gratitude being expressed.
In fact we are asked to “Give thanks to God, regardless of our circumstances. This is God’s will for us in You, Lord Jesus.” (based on 1 Thessalonians 5 v 18)
“Do nothing to dampen the fire of God’s Spirit within You.” (v 19) So I must pray! Please may the Holy Spirit keep me praying consistently, conscientiously, and gratefully. Amen.
